Every festival is celebrated with huge pomp and show in Rajasthan which leave a delightful thought in Rajasthan people. Some of the famous festivals of Rajasthan are Holi, Gangur and Teej. Holi is a colorful festival of Rajasthan which is celebrated in the month of March and April with great pleasure. The colors of holi in the state sends the message of love which represents the emotions of life. Gangur is a multi-colored festival of Rajasthan which last for 16 days.  It is celebrated with friends and family together. In this festival women worship lord Gauri the wife of lord Shiva. The festival shares a strong bonding between friends and family. Teej is one of the famous festival of Rajasthan. It is celebrated for the enrollment of heavy rain so that the people can enjoy the aroma of wet soil everywhere. In this festival women’s wear heavy clothes and jewelry and worship goddess Durga.

Forts and Palaces of Rajasthan


Rajasthan is famous for its impressive forts and palaces that have been attractively standing since ages in the state. They are the perfect example of the historical architectural buildings of Rajasthan. Some of the major forts and palaces of Rajasthan are: – Amber fort in Jaipur, Chittorgarh fort in Chittorgarh, City palace in Jaipur, Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, Junagadh fort in Bikaner, Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur, Sonal Kila in Jaislamer, City palace in Udaipur and many more.

Rajasthani Cuisines 


Rajasthani food reflects rich culture and traditions of its own kind. Rajasthani food provides an amazing variety of mouth-watering dishes. Rajasthani food is mostly vegetarian and is known for its spicy curry and delightful sweets. There are huge variety of sweets in Rajasthan which are relished and enjoyed by all. The famous dishes of Rajasthani are Dal Bati churma, Bessan Ki Chakki and sweet dishes of Rajasthan are Sohan Halwa and Kalakand.

Music and Dance


Rajasthan is India’s largest and ancient source of folk music and dance. Ghumar and Jhumar are the famous dance forms of Rajasthan. These dances are conduct on particular occasions which reflect Rajasthan’s culture. The music of Rajasthan has unique flavour which gives a remarkable quality to different musical sounds and rhythms that fascinates the listener.

National park and sanctuaries in Rajasthan


Rajasthan is a safe home of a large variety of wildlife animals and birds. From lush green forest of Mount Abu to barren deserts all include a large variety of different species. Some of them are unique but some of them are endangered.  Some of the animals found in Rajasthan are tigers, black bucks, chinkara, the rare desert fox, the endangered caracal, the great Indian bustard, gavial, monitor lizard, porcupine etc. Rajasthan’s two national parks and a dozen sanctuaries are world famous and they are:- Ranthambore National Park (Ranthambore), Desert National Park(Jaislamer), Chambal Sanctuary(Kota), Mount Abu Sanctuary(Mount Abu), Jaisamand Sanctuary(Udaipur), Sitamata Sanctuary(Udaipur) etc. These places are open for the people round the year but are closed during the monsoon.
